FATIMA DAY – Wednesday 13th September
This was a great success and we thank Fr Dominic Popplewell, Parish Priest of Wentworth, NSW, Diocese of Wilcannia-Forbes for accepting our invitation to be the main celebrant.
WORKING BEE
Thank you to all you turned up and helped out on Saturday 16th with the monthly working bee. Next working bee is on the front page of the bulletin.
MORNING TEA AFTER MASS
This morning Sunday 17th September. Morning Tea will be held in the Old Monastery for those attending the 8am Mass. Thank you to all those who prepared something sweet or savoury, it is very much appreciated.
ANNUAL RETREAT
Each year the Australian Province gathers together for the annual retreat. This year it will be in our Sister Shrine of Marian Valley, Canungra QLD. It will be held from Monday 2nd to Friday 6th October 2023. During that week there will be a Priest in residence for Mass at 11am and the Church will be open for private prayer.
FATIMA DAY – Friday 13th October
The main celebrant will be the Most Reverend Columba MacBeth-Green OSPPE DD, Bishop of Wilcannia-Forbes. Weather permitting Mass will be celebrated outside. Please bring along a chair as there is only a limited number provided by the Shrine as well as a hat to protect you from the sun.
MASS WITH THE BLESSING OF PETS/ANIMALS
In honour of St Francis of Assisi, there will be an outdoor Mass with the blessing of Pets / Animals on Sunday 15th October at 11am. Mass will be celebrated outside. For anyone one wanting to help on that day please speak to Fr Richard. More information will come out in the next couple of weeks.
40th ANNIVERSARY OF THE SHRINE
Next year, We will be celebrating the 40th Anniversary of the blessing and opening of the Shrine. From Fatima Day (13th October) the calendar of events will be available outlining the various celebrations to mark this great milestone.
ANNUAL LEAVE
From 14th September, Fr Joseph Maria is taking a portion of his holiday. We pray that Fr Joseph has a good and safe time away.
