WEDDING ANNIVERSARY
Congratulations to Brian and Susanne Carter on the occasion of their 50th Wedding Anniversary (4th August). Wishing them every blessing through the intercession of Our Lady of Mercy.

RENEWAL OF RELIGIOUS PROFESSION
Congratulations to Br Augustine who will be renewing his Religious Vows at the 11am Mass. Please continue to pray for vocations to our Religious Order and got the Priesthood and religious life in general.

11am MASS EACH WEDNESDAY
Commencing on Wednesday 9th August, the Shrine Mass each Wednesday will be celebrated at the Old Monastery. As this is a beautifully restored chapel, on the site of the original Monastery, it is felt that there should be more regular usage as well as the Church cleaning is organised for Wednesdays. The main Shrine Church will still be open for visitation.

Br Augustine will be renewing his Religious vows on Sunday 6th August at the 11am Mass. All are invited to come along, participate and support Br Augustine as he takes another important step in his religious life. Please keep him and others in formation in your prayers. The Shrine Church has many visitors each day and especially during the weekends, holidays and Solemnities. It is not always easy to stay on top of keeping the church clean but it is a necessity as it is a place of pilgrimage and the house of God. Therefore Fr Richard has organised that the Shrine Church will be deep cleaned once a month. There will be notice given and the 11am Mass for that particular day will be celebrated in the Chapel at the Old Monastery. Next Church cleaning: Wednesday 9th August.

WORKING BEE
Thank you to all who turned up and participated in the monthly working bee. Next working bee: Saturday 19th August. For anyone seeking further information or would like to volunteer please speak to Fr Joseph Maria.

OLD MONASTERY
There are 4 rooms available for individuals or couples wishing to come and spend some time at Penrose Park ($30 without linen & $40 with linen). There is also a decent conference room. Fr Richard intends to start monthly morning teas after the 8am Mass at the old monastery starting in September when the weather warms up. If there is anyone interested in helping to organise/coordinate this please speak to Fr Richard.

OLD MONASTERY
A very heartfelt THANK YOU to the Mertin family for their very generous donation of a washing machine and dryer. This will help immensely both for people staying at the Old Monastery as well as laundering the linen afterwards.
Bookings are essential for staying at the Old Monastery, prices are per night $30 without bed linen and $40 with bed linen.

REQUIEM FOR MARI SULLIVAN
The funeral Mass for the repose of the soul of +Mari Sullivan will be in the Shrine Church on Wednesday 19th July at 11am. May she rest in Peace. The regular Mass for pilgrims will be celebrated at 11am in the Old Monastery.

Fr Richard has purchased two golf buggy’s for the benefit of pilgrims coming to the Shrine, especially for Fatima Day or any major solemnity. He is looking for people interested in driving them. For anyone interested please speak to Fr Richard or one of the community.

There are 4 rooms available for individuals or couples wishing to come and spend some time at Penrose Park ($30 without linen & $40 with linen). There is also a decent conference room. Fr Richard intends to start monthly morning teas after the 8am Mass at the old monastery starting in September when the weather warms up. SOLEMN REQUIEM FOR FR GABRIEL

MUSIC AT THE FUNERAL
Many people commented at the amazing music at Fr Gabriel’s funeral. The are a group called “Prima Luce” and they specialise in Church music especially chant and the Traditional Latin Mass. We will be using them from time to time to enhance the beauty and dignity of our Shrine Liturgy. A special Thank you also goes to our organist, Mr Michael Taylor who played the hymns and accompanied Prima Luce in some of the pieces.

Here are the announcements from the Bulletin for the 11th Sunday in Ordinary Time:

VIGIL & VIEWING OF FR GABRIEL
The Solemn Reception of the Body of Fr Gabriel and Vigil Liturgy will be on Monday 19th June at the Old Monastery commencing at 3pm and concluding around 7pm.
The Order of Service will be the following:
3pm: Reception of the Body, procession into the Old Monastery Chapel and opening of the coffin along with the Funeral Vigil Liturgy.
4pm: Rosary (Joyful Mysteries)
5pm: Rosary (Sorrowful Mysteries)
6pm: Solemn Vespers and closing of the coffin.

Refreshments will be available in the conference room in the Old Monastery.

SOLEMN REQUIEM FOR FR GABRIEL
The Solemn Pontifical Funeral Mass for Fr Gabriel will be in the Shrine Church on Tuesday 20th June commencing at 11am.
The Order of the day is as follows:
8am: Reception of the Body and procession into the Shrine Church
8:30am: Solemn Morning Prayer of the Church
9am: Viewing in the Shrine Church
9:30am: Rosary (Luminous Mysteries)
10:15am: Closing of the coffin and Rosary (Glorious Mysteries)
10:40am: Singing of the Litany of the Blessed Virgin Mary
11am: Solemn Pontifical Requiem Mass

Burial will follow the Mass and will take place at St Patrick’s cemetery, Sutton Forest.

Wake and Refreshments to follow at St Paul’s Parish Hall (24 Garrett Street, Moss Vale).

SOLEMNITY OF THE BODY & BLOOD OF CHRIST (CORPUS CHRISTI) 11th JUNE
To celebrate the Solemnity of Corpus Christi, there will be exposition between all the Masses allowing the faithful some time to adore the Lord. After the 11am Mass there will be exposition, some prayers in reparation for abuses against the Blessed Sacrament and concluding with Solemn Benediction. Please spend some time with the Lord.

UPDATE ON FR GABRIEL
Fr Gabriel is officially on Palliative care. He is currently off morphine and is on a patch for pain relief. He is off solid food and has to have everything mashed or in liquid form.
Fr Richard and members of the community continue to visit daily and spend time with him. Please keep him in your prayers for strength and perseverance and especially as he prepares to return home to the Father. Fr Gabriel thanks everyone for their prayers, love and support at this time.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDS
Fr Richard and Fr Joseph are looking at starting some regular working bees to tidy up the grounds, especially at the main entrance of the property and around the chapels and Grotto. This is a mammoth task! For anyone interested in helping please see either Father for more information.

VOTIVE CANDLE STANDS
The votive candle stands are a unique burning system therefore ONLY the candles provided are to be used in them and not other forms of tea light candles as this is a fire hazard as well as it damages the glass holders and clogs them with wax. If you wish to make an offering of tea light candles please give them to someone in the Monastic community or leave them unlit on one of the side Altars.

PASCHAL PRECEPT
A reminder that all Catholics are obliged to go to Confession and Holy Communion at least once a year between Ash Wednesday and Trinity Sunday (4th June).
