Funeral of Fr Gabriel Taylor

Home » Announcements » Funeral of Fr Gabriel Taylor

The Church at the Shrine of Our Lady of Mercy is now ready for the arrival of Fr Gabriel Taylor for his funeral tomorrow.

We would like to advise that there will be no live streaming of the funeral because of technical difficulties due to the remoteness of the Shrine and the lack of a reliable internet connection.

However, the funeral will be recorded, and the video uploaded to our website after.

  1. Thanks for advising that live streaming of Fr Gabriel’s funeral is not possible. My wife Beverley has known Fr Gabriel since the 90’s and used to correspond as well as phone him on his birthday in Sept every year and used to often drive from Melbourne to Penrose Park on pilgrimage in the 90’s . We look forward to viewing the recording of his funeral in due course . May his soul rest in peace.

  2. Thank you for this notice. Our dear friend Fr Gabriel will be missed by all his friends in Perth. We will keep a look out for the recording of his funeral. The Chapel looks beautiful. He would have loved this.

  3. Thank you for the notification re the live streaming of Father Gabriel’s Funeral. So sad not to have been able to attend in person but old age now prevents our previous and present many activities. We look forward to seeing the recorded video when available.
It has been many years now since we first met Father Gabriel with Father Augustine when we lived on Mount Tamborine. There are so many fond memories of those years working with the Pauline Fathers, Margaret and Bern Foley and their Rosary Bouquet and the opening of Marian Valley.
We attended Father Gabriel’s Ordination on the 11th April 1992 at Penrose Park and his First Mass on the following day at Moss Vale. So many beautiful memories of this dear and gentle Marian priest.
    May he rest in peace.

  4. We traveled from Brisbane and attended both the vigil and the funeral.
It all was so respectful and so beautifully done. You certainly provided a service that was fitting for Father Gabriel, his relatives, the entire community and parish.
