WORKING BEE
Thank you to everyone who came and participated in the December working bee and those who helped throughout the year of 2025. There will be a break in January. The next working bee will be on Saturday, 22nd February 2026. Please consider coming along and helping to keep the Shrine beautiful for our local area and the pilgrims who visit. This Shrine is a treasure to the Order, the Diocese, and the country; any help or talent is always most welcome. Please speak to Fr. Joseph Maria, Subprior, for more information or specifics.
ANNUAL LEAVE
Fr Richard, Prior & Rector of the Shrine, will be on annual leave from 17th January to 17th February 2026. While he is away Fr Joseph Maria, Subprior will be in charge.
READERS AT MASS
This is a periodic run looking for volunteers. We are looking for people interested in reading at the Sunday Masses and other times during the Liturgical year. It is always good to have a few people and if this is achieved a roster can be created for each of the Masses. Please speak to one of the community or please email the office and specify which particular Sunday Mass you would like to read at and the regularity you can offer.
VOTIVE CANDLE STANDS
This is a periodic reminder that the votive candle stands are a unique burning system therefore ONLY the candles provided are to be used in them and not other forms of tea lights or candles as this is a fire hazard as well as it damages the glass holders and clogs them with wax. If you wish to make an offering of tea lights or candles please give them to someone in the Monastic community or leave them unlit on one of the side Altars.
A PRAYER FOR AUSTRALIA
O God, powerful and gentle,
you love this southern land and all its people, old and new.
As the Cross shines in our heavens so may Christ bring light to our nation.
As the waves encircle our shores so may your mercy enfold us all.
O God, the wonders of our vast and rugged land reflect your beauty,
ever ancient, ever new.
May your blessings flow upon us as a stream in the desert,
and may your spirit prompt us to use your gifts for the good of all.
May God who formed our southern land be for us a rock of strength.
May God who rules our southern seas keep us safe in every storm.
May God who made our southern skies turn our darkness into light.
We ask this through Christ our Lord. AMEN
